Particle size distribution/velocity distribution measurement device
It is possible to accurately measure the particle size distribution and velocity distribution of particles, droplets, sprays, microbubbles, etc., down to about 1 micron.
The image analysis method is the first to enable measurements of objects with flow rates exceeding 100 m/sec in the range of 1 μm to 16 mm for wet, dry, and spray conditions. It is an optimal device for measuring non-spherical particles, which is a characteristic of image-based methods. Additionally, thanks to the patented Focus Appearance Algorithm, it eliminates the need for telecentric lenses that can cause a decrease in accuracy and sheath flow cells that limit measurement conditions, despite being an image analysis method. By capturing the dispersion state of the objects in real-time and performing automatic measurements, it allows for the accurate and instantaneous acquisition of true particle size distributions. These size distribution values are obtained by instantaneously tracking and accurately measuring each individual particle through three-dimensional position size tracking and two-screen PTV, which apply the Focus Appearance Algorithm. Furthermore, this method allows for simultaneous measurement of velocity and particle size distribution comparisons. Thus, this device can measure large particles and water droplets from 1 μm to millimeter sizes, provide accurate and stable velocity distribution measurements, require no specific installation precision, and achieve stable and accurate measurements even under conditions that are difficult for conventional measurement devices.
